Motor Vehicle Registration

The Town of Bowdoin is an authorized agent for Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Vehicle registrations may be done at the Town Office, or you may visit the Online Vehicle Registration Renewal Website by clicking the link or on the above image.

What to Bring to Expedite the Registration Process:

For a Vehicle Re-Registration:

For a New Registration:

    • Monroney Label*

*Monroney Label is the Factory Window Sticker which is applied to the vehicle at time of manufacture. It needs only to be provided when registering a new vehicle.

Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes

2021 Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes are due:
  • July 29, 2022 – The first half installment
  • December 2, 2022 – The second half installment.

Interest accrues on a daily basis on past due taxes at a rate of 6% annum.

When payments are made, they are applied to lien charges (if any) first, then to interest due, and then to the oldest outstanding taxes.

Tax Bills

The tax mill rate for the 2022 tax year is $16.90 (.0169), and the certified ratio is 81%. The first installment of taxes are due July 29, 2021 and interest will begin on August 1, 2022 at 6%. The second installment is due on December 2, 2021, and interest will begin on December 5, 2022 at 6%.

If taxes are paid in full within thirty (30) days of of the first due date, no interest will be charged.
